Compliance Specialist

Position Summary

The Compliance Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity and adherence to company policies and procedures by overseeing and auditing the activities of Independent Consultants and Preferred Customers. This role involves meticulous monitoring and evaluation of compliance processes to identify and mitigate potential risks, maintaining the day-to-day operations, conducting thorough audits, and implementing corrective actions as necessary.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities  

  • Provide basic training and support to employees, consultants, and customers regarding compliance processes. 
  • Process and respond to compliance-related requests via email, text, and telephone. 
  • Monitor internet activities, including social media and consultant websites. 
  • Maintain filing systems to document and track requests and complaints. 
  • Enhance the timeliness and effectiveness of compliance responses. 
  • Serve as the initial point of contact for consultant support and sales teams on compliance issues. 
  • Communicate with consultants regarding non-compliant materials and assist with training material submissions. 
  • Investigate non-compliant incidents, focusing on recruiting, income claims, and product sales via the Internet. 
  • Assist with monitoring programs and audits to detect suspicious transactions and policy violations. 
  • Identify and review possible suspicious activity by examining account transactions and customer information. 
  • Prepare reports to keep management informed of Compliance Department activities and investigation statuses. 
  • Review and make recommendations on policies, procedures, and related training processes.  

 Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred. 
  • 3+ years’ experience in direct selling industry compliance or income and product claims. 
  • Knowledge of FDA/FTC laws and regulations. 

Skills 

  • Proficient in Microsoft OneNote, Excel, Word, and Outlook. 
  • Strong customer service skills with clarity and courtesy. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Punctual and detail-oriented. 
  • Team-oriented with a positive attitude. 
  • Proven problem-solving skills and investigative abilities. 
  • Pleasant demeanor and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Flexibility in handling changing priorities. 
  • Self-starter with the ability to maintain confidentiality. 
  • Proficient knowledge of products, services, and departmental processes. 
  • Bilingual skills preferred.
